The 33-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him in charge of the national team until after the 2024 European Championship.

Nagelsmann replaces Hansi Flick, who stepped down after Germany's disappointing performance at the 2022 World Cup.

Nagelsmann is one of the most highly-rated young coaches in the world and has impressed during his time in charge of RB Leipzig.

He led Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2020 and has also won the DFB-Pokal twice.
