Race on Hold Amidst Downpour
The highly anticipated running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway was unfortunately placed on hold Sunday evening due to inclement weather. The event, scheduled for a 6:00 PM EDT start, was postponed after heavy rainfall rendered the track unsafe for racing.
According to the NASCAR Live Raceday Weather Forecast, the chance of rain at the start of the race was an alarming 87%. With a high temperature of only 61 degrees, the conditions were not conducive to racing. This marks the fourth time in the history of the Coca-Cola 600 that rain has prevented the completion of the race.
